For patients in the permanent dentition with a Class III malocclusion
Myobrace®Permanent Dentition Class III (also referred to as the P-3® series) is a three-stage appliance system used for Class III malocclusion in the permanent dentition. Class III malocclusion is best treated very early (three to eight years) while the patient is still developing with the Interceptive Class III appliance series. However, often the opportunity for early treatment is missed and the Class III malocclusion persists into the permanent dentition. The P-3® series works by pushing the upper front teeth forward and the lower front teeth back with a 3mm offset bite, as well as correcting the habits that caused the Class III in the first place. The appliances are frequently combined with the BWS and Myolay™ arch development techniques.

Establish nasal breathing and habit correction in the permanent dentition
The P-3N focuses on establishing nasal breathing and initial myofunctional correction for Class III patients in the permanent dentition. It is soft and flexible, giving the best compliance while being adaptive to any arch form and malocclusion. It has small breathing holes to establish continuous nasal breathing and myofunctional features to promote correct habits. It also features MRC’s patented flat tongue tag to optimise tongue position and the 3mm offset to promote dental Class III correction. Move to the P-3® when the P-3N is staying in overnight and nasal breathing has been established.

Arch expansion and continue habit correction in the permanent dentition
The P-3® focuses on arch development and continuing habit correction for Class III patients in the permanent dentition. It has small breathing holes to maintain continuous nasal breathing and myofunctional features to promote correct habits. The P-3® features a revolutionary Dynamicore™ inner cage for arch development to further improve habit correction. It also features MRC’s patented flat tongue tag to optimise tongue position and the 3mm offset to promote dental Class III correction. Move to the P-3H when the P-3® has corrected the arch form, breathing and myofunctional habits.

Finalise alignment, habit correction and retention in the permanent dentition
The P-3H focuses on final alignment of the teeth, while retaining the arch form, breathing and myofunctional habits, for Class III patients in the permanent dentition. By this stage of treatment, patients' teeth will be mostly aligned and the P-3H can be used to finalise any remaining mild malocclusion, while the 3mm offset maintains the correct dental relationship. The breathing holes are absent as the patient should be nasal breathing by this stage, while myofunctional features, including a hollow tongue tag, are incorporated to finalise and maintain the correct habits. The P-3H is to be used as per MRC’s retention protocols.
